Less than a week after the sci-fi short film, True Skin, went online Warner Bros. had nabbed it and picked it up for Harry Potter’s David Heyman to produce. The deal was signed back in October.
Stephan Zlotescu, who directed the short, is attached to direct the feature version; Christopher Sewall, the short’s producer, will co-produce along with the short’s DP H1 who will get first consideration for the DP position on the feature.
The story is set in the not-too-distant future where everyone is enhancing their bodies using robotic parts.
The story’s hero can’t afford to enhance his body in the U.S., so he heads to the black market of Bangkok, where he gets hold of a mysterious chip that is slowly turning him into a robot.
The mysterious chip in question is wanted by some unscrupulous forces.
Stephan Zlotescu is an FX specialist who has contributed to video clips by Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj.
